Who We Are

Geology-Verse has been developed by Dr Matthew Genge – a senior lecturer in the Department of Earth Science and Engineering, together with a team including Dr Mark Sutton, Dr Valentin Laurent, Dr Rebecca Bell, Dr Emma Passmore, and Ms Sophia Quazi. Dr Matt Genge is a planetary scientist and geologist who has 25 years experience of developing and leading geology fieldtrips for undergraduate students. He is also the author of a textbook on geological field illustrations. During the covid-19 pandemic Matt Genge developed and delivered 5 virtual field trips for students at Imperial College London.

Geology-Verse is an initiative to share a tool in Virtual Fieldwork with the geological community and enable participation in fieldwork for students from all backgrounds. At the same time Geology-Verse will provide a wealth of additional field content for enthusiasts and students.
